Washington D.C. ECA Chapter to be at MagFest |

We are going to have a table at MagFest (http://magfest.org/) this year. The show runs Jan 1st through the 4th with a special New Year's Eve for those who preregister. I will need help manning the table for the whole show as I will need to go home to walk my dog and other stuff. Besides signing up members for the Chapter we will also be representing the ECA at MagFest so we will have ECA material to hand out and to answer questions. I won't need help all the time so you will be able to enjoy the show and I don't plan on having the table staffed for all hours even though the show does run straight for 4 days. We are getting the table for free but they did ask me to have everyone going to preregister for the show. Its currently $40 for all 4 days. If you are short the cash and would really like to go let me know. I might not be able to help everyone but I will try.
Also we will be holding a contest for a prize package. At the meeting we talked about what we want to do and we came up with some ideas. My idea was to do highest score wins and the game I was thinking about was Batman and using one of the challenges. Other games were Left 4 Dead Survival Mode, Gears of War Horde Mode, Tekken 6, Street Fighter 4, Modern Warfare 1 on 1 tournament. More game ideas at this point would great as nothing is set in stone. I will provide the TV and system that this will be played on but I might need people to bring either games or extra controllers. I will let you all know when we get the contest set. I hope we can figure out something in the next few weeks. All ideas are welcomed.
Not sure if its possible at this late stage but does anyone want to pool money in for a room at the hotel. It would be more a break room for us where we can keep stuff while at the show and maybe take a nap or something. While I'm not planning on staying at the hotel since I live just down the street I don't mind putting up some money for a room for others and to use as storage or for a short break. Heck we could even have our own DC ECA play room where people can come in and play games and to get to know us. Let me know sooner than later and I will try to get a room. BTW rooms are $99 a night. |
